Troubleshooting Guide

Device won't power on for drying

Possible Cause
Dead or missing battery

Solution
Install fresh CR2032 coin cell battery (check polarity)

Possible Cause

  • Battery drained
  • Faulty power switch or LED circuit

Solution

  • Replace CR2032 battery.
  • Power-cycle switch (OFF → ON).

Possible Cause
Device stuck in error state

Solution

  • Power OFF, wait 10 s, then power ON.
  • If not resolved, contact Redux Support. Contact Support at Support@redux.com

Possible Cause

Cable or adapter incompatible or damaged

Solution

  • Use only supplied USB-C cable and 5 V ⎓ 500 mA adapter.
  • Avoid multi-voltage smart adapters; use fixed 5V adapter.

If Reactivation/Regen is needed - DryBUDDY has solid red light:

Reactivation Using Sleeve

  • Power Off
    • Slide the power switch to OFF.
  • Connect Power
    • Plug the supplied USB-C cable into the DryBUDDY USB-C port and a 5V-500 mA USB power adapter or USB outlet.
    • Important: Some USB power adapters that support multiple voltages (e.g., “fast chargers” or USB Power Delivery/PD) may not initiate reactivation. DryBUDDY does not communicate with smart adapters, so they may fail to supply power.
  • Insert Reactivation Sleeve
    • Slide the sleeve fully onto the DryBUDDY housing. The act of putting the sleeve on will start the reactivation process.
  • Initiate Reactivation
    • This is automatic once sleeve is placed on with USB-C connected. The red LED will blink (1 s on / 1 s off)—reactivation has begun.
  • Wait for Completion
    • When the red LED turns OFF and the green LED turns ON (solid), reactivation is complete.
  • Unplug Power and Remove Sleeve
    • Unplug power and allow the sleeve and beads to cool for 10 min.

What if I opened DryBUDDY before use?

If you opened DryBUDDY prior to use, you may need to perform a reactivation cycle before drying treatment. If the electronic rice beads are dark in color or there is a solid red light when you turn on your DryBUDDY, perform the reactivation steps listed above.

Store DryBUDDY in a sealed Mylar pouch in a dry location when not in use.
