Needs to connect to the app
I like that it charges and dries my hearing aids at the same time, but my original dryer box connects to the app and tells me how much moisture was removed. I like using that data to know how frequently I should dry my stuff.
Pricey but works well
So far so good!
Delivery was fast. Set up and operating instructions in the booklet were clear. It seems to be functioning well. The real test will be when next I go to my next audiology appt and they run my aids in their industrial drier and let me know how good my Redux is doing. But I’m feeling really good about things. Thank you!
Impressed
I think the Redux is great!
My Redux home dryer.
I came across your home dryer watching Dr. Cliff videos on YouTube. I just purchased my first hearing aids about five weeks ago through ZipHearing. I am a sweating, and I get out and walk 10,000+ steps a day and was concerned about water damaging my hearing aids. After I got them and went back for my two-week follow up visit they allowed me to dry my hearing aids in one of your Redux professional dryers, and they said there was 5.8 deciliters of water, which they thought was a crazy high amount. They agreed that I would benefit highly from a home dryer. I've been using it either every night or every other night and typically it's indicated that the dryer was removing between 2 and 5 deciliters of water each time. At least twice I have had it not be able to recover the dry data, which is frustrating. Is it important to be right next to the dryer when trying to recover the information? Typically I put the hearing aids in the dryer when I go to sleep, then when I wake up to go to the bathroom I switch them to the charger. The dryer has those slots to out the domes in, why is it important to do that? Is it a good idea to take the domes off before drying the hearing aids? Over-all I am very glad I bought your home dryer.
Re Home Dryer
Disappointed you don’t have a phone number for help questions.
Pros and cons - does the basics well, but not the rest
This feels like a quality unit, except the bubble sticker on top which without a doubt makes it feel cheaper. Remove this and you'll be happier. Drying - the basics - it does well. Application - Awful. On a Google Pixel 7 Pro, the app often crashes. It is one of the most basic apps ever. Opening the app takes you to a list of devices to connect to. Why? Shouldn't it remember my device if I have only one. Next, you click search, then click on your device. It opens my device, e.g. "HOME_B18" and gives me no information, just "Not Detected" on the "Run Time" screen. BTW, this is Bluetooth so you must be close, and I am. Next, I click "Dry Data", and it reverts to the initial "Search Now" screen. Now I've actually had it show me data, so I know it could be useful, but it seems like they scraped the bottom of the barrel when they hired people to develop the app. Pros: good, hands-off device for drying Cons: fails to deliver a usable, working application for the smartphone
So happy to have this dryer!
My audiologist suggested this dryer when I asked for recommendations. In Texas right now it is very humid. My first drying was over 5ul and so it told me to dry more frequently. I currently dry once a day and it registers 2-5ul, and suggests I continue until this goes down. I would never have known how soggy my hearing aids were without this machine. I am hoping this will prolong the life of my hearing aids. Highly recommended!!!
Pretty damn good
Works good on hearing aid
Good product.
I enjoy it so far. I use it to dry my hearing aid overnight while I sleep. The sensor with the Bluetooth connection always tell me that there is a lot of moisture in it from daily uses. Most definitely dries better than the traditional small container with microwaveable bead thing. It get more moisture out of it.
